Try the Designers Circus Womens Social Sales Event starting September 27.  Primarily a warehouse sale for womens boutique designers, the Circus has on hand a collection of highly regarded paintings from Artists like Elena Gordenskaya (a St. Petersburg artist), Louise Weinstein and others.

Lawrence, home to Jack Kerouac of literary fame has a great Art Walk this summer along its canals and downtown.  If you get the chance go.

I just went to the Hopper Exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts.  Great luminous paintings of classic America, as the MFA says.
